Software Tools

InterAction of Bath has designed and developed a range of software products which help provide detailed and accurate analysis. We use these tools as part of our day-to-day business and we've also made them commercially available.

Our Manual Handling risk assessment tools have been designed to allow the user to conduct assessments quickly and effectively with reference to either the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) regulations or special risk assessment tools such as RULA and REBA. Our software applications such as IDEAS and InterPosture can be used by employees to self-assess their workstations.

Our tools include:

  • InterWORK, for Hierarchical Task Analysis
  • SafeLift, for manual handling risk analysis (against the HSE regulations)
  • InterNIOSH. for manual handling risk analysis (against the NIOSH regulations)
  • InterPosture, for posture risk analysis
  • FireStore, for manual handling risk analysis (against the HSE regulations)
  • IDEAS, for DSE workstation self-assessment

Software Services

We have also helped many clients with their own software projects. We offer: user requirement gathering, functionality specification, rapid prototype development and testing, heuristic assessments and more.

Of course, building in the ergonomics from the start of the development process helps to ensure that the human-computer interaction (HCI) of the final product, be it an application or a website, is optimised.
